Turns out you learned a lot, it’s just that most of it was wrong Turns out you pulled it off, but now you’re putting it back on Turns out your scary neighbor’s actually a really sweet guy Turns out there really is a heaven, just no one goes there when they die, die, die I just can’t can’t keep up keep up I can’t keep it all together I don’t know which way I’m heading, I can’t make out what you’re saying I just can’t can’t I just can’t keep up It ain’t easy being evil when the whole world’s gone to hell It ain’t easy breaking even when you’ve got nothing to sell I’ve been working on my problems, I’ve been hanging out in bars I’ve been doing the la-la-la, but then it always goes to far I just can’t can’t keep up keep up I can’t keep it all together I don’t know which way I’m heading, I can’t make out what you’re saying I just can’t can’t I just can’t keep up I just can’t can’t keep up keep up I can’t keep it all together I don’t know which way I’m heading, I can’t make out what you’re saying I just can’t can’t I just can’t keep up

Out walking around, kinda thinking aloud about how the world kinda let me down Yeah oh well, I sing a little tune it goes la-da-da-do-do-do-do-do Yeah well how are you are? I hope things are well. I hope you’re happy and in good health. Tell your folks I said “hello”, or don’t, or tell them whatever. She said, “oh yeah, you should have known.” I said, “Next time I’ll do better though.” She said, “No. See, that’s just it you won’t.” I said, “Ok, yeah maybe so.” But I sing, “la-di-di-di-da” with the people! From the barstools of our dimlit cathedral Riding out into town for the weekend I don’t know, oh baby, just let me go. Out walking around, kinda thinking aloud about how the world kinda let me down Yeah, lil’ girl you don’t know a single thing about me, whatever. It goes “oh yeah, you should have known.” I said, “Next time I’ll do better though.” She said, “No. See, that’s just it you won’t.” I said, “Ok, yeah maybe so.” But I sing, “la-di-di-di-da” with the people! Exile 03:10
I've been in Exile in Washington, D.C. I can't remember why I went there I can't remember why I left my home The whole town seems inverted They got walls, they got walls, They got walls We got soft, baby,we got caught, yeah we got robbed And I went woah-oh-oh-oh (woah woah-oh-oh-oh) We got soft, baby, we got caught yeah, we got lost And I went woah-oh-oh-oh (woah woah-oh-oh-oh) And I'm a filthy alcoholic (yeah!) Keep your daughter away from me I get pumped once I get started End up with blood all in my teeth We got soft, baby,we got caught, yeah we got robbed And I went woah-oh-oh-oh (woah woah-oh-oh-oh) We got soft, baby, we got caught yeah, we got lost And I went woah-oh-oh-oh (woah woah-oh-oh-oh) We should mess around, you know, come kiss me in the mouth You ought to stay Don't be afraid I won't mess you up, you know, or kick you in the gut You ought to wait I need you here We could roll around You know, go play along the ground I got you up Don't be afraid

Sick/Weak 02:11
We’re screaming in the street, we got sick, and we got weak. And we’re crawling on our hands and knees, trying to find something to eat Something to eat, Yeah, eee, yeah, eeee yeah I don’t have no savior, I don’t have nowhere to go I got surprises in my pocket, I got people, I got people that know Somewhere yeah, someone’s dictating a letter. You don’t have no kind of patience if you don't have no time to write. Woah, eee ooohhh We’re calling out your name. I got lost, and I got blamed. We’re clawing at your door, cuz we dont have anywhere to go Anywhere to go eee oh

Condoms are for sailors, I believe in every word and it looks like you could use a cigarette We were floating in the water, I was pacing back and forth Yeah, you know I always love bashing in my head. Now I'm feeling like some ghost You've got some nerve showing your face around here Everybody knows what you are and where you've been You've got that fire on your face boy I swear You do it hard, you do it fast, it's gonna do you in You'll end up like some folks Hey hey hey commotion, Jesus save me Pu-pu-pu pull me out from the fire Sh-sh-sh shake me all you wanna, yeah, you know, it's never enough

All Shook Up 03:44
The years keep changing but the gun's still in my heart There's a serpent on the sidelines telling me that I'm a star I read the message that you texted to my phone It said "Don't you come around here you're not welcome no more" And the cars are running up and down the block Yeah, i sit by and watch all the people blowing their horns And they scream and they shout These days are draining they take everything you got Like a deer caught in the headlights you look all shook up. I read the message that you texted to my phone It said "Don't you come around here, don't wanna see you no more" And the cars are running up and down the block Yeah, i sit by and watch all the people blowing their horns And they scream and they SHOUT

Get Lost 04:24
She don't want to go to heaven, get drinks or go to dinner She's a big red ribbon, burly kind of woman I'm a safe house sing-a-long microwave oven alcohol poisoning chance to get lost If you would, your time ran out, so get lost. Get your stuff - there's just no space to hang around Torch the stable, rip the wings off some angels Buy some fancy clothes, stock bonds and potatoes I'm a safe house sing-a-long microwave oven alcohol poisoning chance to get lost If you would, your time ran out, so get lost. Get your stuff - there's just no space to hang around

Over&Over 02:57
One after another and it comes and goes just over and over Pushing and pulling the levers, up and down and over and over Caught up in the barbed wire, I'm just trying to think straight. Jumping from the window and landing on my suitcase. One after another and it comes and goes over and over Circling this town forever, up and down and over and over Caught up in the barbed wire, I'm just trying to think straight. Jumping from the window and landing on my suitcase. Is this even the hard part, I sure hope it's worth it Jumping from the window and landing on my suitcase Woah. - Its running you down you've had enough of this lane, you put in the time and it blew up in your face. You keep on singing yourself the same old song. It goes woah.

It's the long folk revival, I'm gonna write my motto in stone It says, "here lies the good life, don't whisper to me when I die" Yeah, it had to be stopped. My home is empty, there's a long lost song on my tongue. It's the new education of Henry Adams, I guess. And the floor won't roll me in. It won't wind up and throw. You're there and I'm back here on my own. You set the one trap I'd never foil. You went on out there, start slowing me down.

about

Ever since releasing our debut record, HOLY MOLY, we have been anxiously awaiting the opportunity to put out this follow up record, which we hoped would be a more complete presentation of the Thirsty Curses sound. While HOLY MOLY is a damn fine record in its own right, with ALL SHOOK UP, we took a big leap forward. ALL SHOOK UP is unique but accessible; ambitious, engaging, and fun. This record has a something for everybody, or at least that's what we were going for...

We started recording demos for ALL SHOOK UP in November 2017 at Thirsty Curses HQ in Raleigh, NC. We spent over three months prepping to record and ultimately went into Fidelitorium Studio in Kernersville, NC in February 2018 to lay down ALL SHOOK UP with the legendary producer/engineer Mitch Easter (Let's Active, R.E.M., Avett Bros.).

ALL SHOOK UP is effectively split into three distinct *movements*. The first three songs ("I Can't Keep Up," "Dimlit Cathedral," and "Exile") comprise the first, which consists of the most accessible, mainstream songs on the record. This portion of the album has a very upbeat, Americana feel to it.

The middle portion of the record ("Sick/Weak," "Today's Kids," "Maudlin Feature Film," and "Condoms Are For Sailors") is much more punk-based, with a bit of a progrock flair. These songs are very visceral, highly energetic, raw and loud.

The final portion of the record is effectively progrock. In this section, we connected 5 songs together into one long medley. While working on the record, we referred to this set of songs as the "Rock Opera."

We are excited to put this record out as our modest contribution to the American rock 'n roll landscape. We hope you enjoy it even a fraction as much as we enjoyed making it.

Much thanks to all of our friends and family who supported us over the last couple of years. Shout out to Natalie Moix and Clayton Herring for your invaluable input during the final stages of completing this record.

Cheers! It's been real. Celebrate good times, come on.
